The people's habits define them as a nation, making a nation unique in its own way. As Singapore turns 55 in 2020, Singapore Post celebrates the vibrancy of the community with this stamp issue featuring sketches of the city state's most iconic quirks. Some of the iconic quirks featured in the stamps are Singapore's coffee-shop jargon or lingo (1st Local), their typical local Build-to-Order marriage proposal (70c), common phrases such as "chope", i.e. to reserve a spot by leaving an item (90c), taking wefie (S$1.15) as well as quintessential Singaporean's love to join long queues (S$1.40).
