Sour fruits make their mark in this stamp issue by Pos Malaysia in 2019. The stamps in this issue feature Asam Kandis, also known as sour mangosteen, where its juice is used in elevating flavours in dishes like curries and also used as one of the ingredients in water colours and varnishes; Asam Kelubi, which can be eaten raw, mostly pickled and sometimes used as a substitute for Asam Jawa; as well as Asam Embang, a type of wild mango endemic to Borneo that has a tinge of sweetness in its flavour and usually consumed as ulam, juice or jam.
