2015 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and India. Over the years, Singapore and India enjoy excellent diplomatic and bilateral relationships with each other with frequent and active interaction through different platforms that allow both countries to exchange views on many issues of common concerns. This stamp issue, jointly launched by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the official visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Singapore, commemorates the anniversary of this diplomatic relation. The stamps in this issue feature official residence of the President in each country – The Istana of Singapore (1st Local) and Rashtrapati Bhavan of India (S$2.00). Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by India Post are at these denominations – The Istana stamp (5 ₹) and Rashtrapati Bhavan stamp (25 ₹).
