2016 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Japan. Both countries have always enjoyed strong and warm bilateral and diplomatic relations since its establishment. Both countries have developed excellent relationships in many areas, including trade and investment, culture, and their people. Celebrating this strong and warm diplomatic relation, Singapore Post and Japan Post jointly release a stamp issue featuring ceramic works by renowned potters of the two countries – a traditional tiffin carrier by Singapore's Mr. Iskandar Jalil and traditional serving bowls by Japan's Mr. Toyozo Arakawa. Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by Japan Post are both at a denomination of 82 yen.
