Singapore and Thailand share close historical ties dating back to the 13th century when Singapore and Siam were important nodes for international trade. Over the years, Singapore and Thailand continue to build strong ties based on shared interest. To mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand in 2015, as well as to reaffirm the excellent bilateral ties between both countries, Singapore Post and Thailand Post jointly release a stamp issue featuring desserts from each country – Mango Sticky Rice from Thailand (1st Local) and Ice-cream Sandwich from Singapore (S$2.00). Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by Thailand Post are both at a denomination of 3 Baht.
