Singapore's only natural history museum marks a major milestone when it reopens as the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum on 28 Apr 2015 at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Kent Ridge campus. Housed in an iconic rock-like building, it envisions to be a one stop exhibition, education and research facility servicing biodiversity activities in Singapore and in the region. Home to three rare dinosaur skeletons and over a million plant and animal specimens, the museum is a splendid showcase of the region's natural history and rich biodiversity. Commemorating the opening of the museum, this stamp issue features four iconic animals in the museum – the Sauropod Dinosaur (1st Local), Giant Hawker Dragonfly (70c), Black and Yellow Broadbill (90c) and the Leathery Turtle (S$1.30).
