Johor was the first Malay state to adopt a constitutional system through the establishment of the State's Law of the Constitution of 1895. This law was promulgated on 14 Apr 1895, during the reign of Sultan Abu Bakar. It was later proclaimed by Sultan Ibrahim and was amended for four times. This law has been in existence for 125 years by 2020 and remains to this day, a valid and recognised law under the Federal Constitution. This stamp issue commemorates the 125th Anniversary of Johor's Constitution. The miniature sheet in this issue pays tribute to the legacy of the Johor royal rulers by featuring Sultan Abu Bakar, Sultan Ibrahim Al-Masyhur, Sultan Ismail, Sultan Iskandar, and most recently, Sultan Ibrahim Ismail. The stamp in the miniature sheet features the cover display of the Johor State's law of the constitution of 1895 in Jawi and English. This stamp issue also comes with a pair of se-tenant stamps – click here to find out more.
