Singapore and Israel celebrated 50 years of close bilateral relations and warm friendship in 2019. Commemorating this diplomatic relation, Singapore Post and Israel Post jointly release a stamp issue featuring flowers and birds native to both countries, symbolising the shared values and friendship between the two young nations. The Singapore stamp features flowers commonly found across Singapore's streets and parks, including the Pigeon Orchid, Dancing Ladies, Bougainvillea and Malayan Ixora, a nod to Singapore's unique reputation as a garden city; as well as the Crimson Sunbird. The Israel stamp features several species of flowers found in Israel, including the Anemone, Cyclamen, Senecio and the Narcissus, synonymous with Israel's landscape at different times of the year; as well as the Hoopoe, Israel's national bird. Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by Israel Post are at a denomination of 2.50 ₪ (Singapore stamp) and 7.40 ₪ (Israel stamp).
