These organisations have played a critical and significant role in establishing Singapore as a leading research institute, building the nation for economic progress and cultivating a positive society for a brighter future. ISEAS, founded on 7 June 1968, was the first research centre in Southeast Asia that was dedicated to the study of the region. JTC, formed on 1 Jun 1968, is the lead government agency for the planning and development of industrial infrastructure to support and catalyse the growth of industries and enterprises in Singapore. MUIS, established on 1 Jul 1968, is a statutory body to advise the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore.
