2021 marks the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Portugal. Over the years, the relations between both nations continue to grow from strength to strength with active partnerships with one another. To celebrate and foster the strong ties between Singapore and Portugal, Singapore Post and CTT Correios de Portugal (Portugal Post) jointly release this stamp issue featuring abstract portrayals of iconic locations found in both countries. Using expressive compositions in bright colours, combining geometric and abstract forms, the stamps feature Gardens by The Bay in Singapore and Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. The ravens, featured in the Portugal stamp, are a symbol of Lisbon, after two ravens were found accompanying the remains of Saint Vincent (patron of Lisbon) during his journey from Sagres to Lisbon. Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by CTT Correios de Portugal are both at I 20g ยบ No Face Value.
