Over the years, Singapore and Sri Lanka enjoy warm and friendly relations with good collaborations. Celebrating the growing bilateral ties of both countries, Singapore Post and Sri Lanka Post jointly release a set of stamps featuring mangroves in Singapore and coral reefs in Sri Lanka. Mangroves function in a symbiotic relationship with coral reefs to enhance tropical coastal environments and form a barrier to protect the shorelines. As corals live under the canopies of mangroves and among their roots, mangroves act as nurseries for reef fishes and offer them refuge from environmental stressors, such as high solar intensity and warmer temperatures. The strong symbiotic relationship between mangroves and coral reefs reflects the strong collaborations and growing bilateral ties of both countries. Both stamp designs are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by Sri Lanka Post are at a denomination of 15 රු. (coral reefs stamp) and 45 රු. (mangroves stamp).
