First declared during the UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan held in 1969, World Post Day has been celebrated on 9 Oct each year to mark the advent of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) as well as the significant contributions of postal operators globally. Celebrating 52 years of World Post Day in 2021, this stamp issue by Pos Malaysia, under the theme "Honouring Our Past, Connecting Our Future", showcases the historical past and progress of the postal services, and its resilience in connecting communities locally and abroad.
