Pos Malaysia ended Year 2022 with the issuance of this nice bouquet of edible flowers. Bringing such flowers to the kitchen, in the recipe rather than the vase, is a way to add a touch of flavour to the cuisines. This stamp issue features three flowers in Malaysia that are widely used as ingredients in Malaysian cuisines – the miniature sheet features the Torch Ginger Flower, alongside manuk pansuh, a local cuisine from Sarawak. The flower comes in a variety of colours, such as pink, red and white. The flower buds are used for cooking while the flower petals are usually thinly sliced and added to local cuisines such as kerabunasi ulam and manuk pansuh.
