Traditional Chinese marriage, fused with unique customs and traditions, is a ceremonial ritual within Chinese societies that involves not only a union between a man and a woman, but also a union between the two families. Traditional Chinese marriage rituals were formed around the end of primitive society, with the complete set of Chinese marriage etiquette gradually formed during the Zhou Dynasty. This interesting and lovely stamp issue by Macau Post on Chinese marriage illustrates scenes from a wedding ceremony – the wedding procession, the bride and groom dressed up in traditional wedding costumes and the bride being carried to the sedan (my interpretation of the illustration on the last stamp).
