The National Courtesy Campaign was launched in 1979, with a mission to create a pleasant social environment with Singaporeans being considerate to one another and thoughtful of one another's needs and feelings. Courtesy is important to Singapore where people of different races and different ways of life live and work together. Celebrating the 10th year of National Courtesy Campaign in 1988, this set of stamps shows some of the basic acts of courtesy – the need to greet neighbours (10c), the necessity to queue at service counters (30c) and the need to help the elders (S$1.00).
