The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), situated between India and China, is an exotic region of diversity and contrasts. Comprising Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, the past and present in this region merge to produce a spectacular mix of cultures, traditions and economic achievements. It's also a region rich in resources with immense potential for growth and development. Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the formation of ASEAN, as well as to coincide with Visit ASEAN Year in 1992, this stamp issue by Singapore Post features the unique cultures and attractions in the six ASEAN nations. Designed and drawn using state-of-the-art computer technology then, the montage design depicts the intriguing arts and crafts (20c), dance and culture (35c) as well as the various tourist attractions (S$1.00) of the ASEAN countries.
