New Year stamps, to herald the upcoming brand new year, are issued annually by Thailand Post. This set of stamps, to herald New Year 1998, features four Thai medicinal herbs – Cassia alata, commonly known as Candlestick Plant (top left stamp), Strophanthus caudatus, also known as the twisted cord flower (top right stamp), Clinacanthus nutans, commonly known as Sabah snake grass (bottom left stamp), and Acanthus ilicifolius, commonly known as holly-leaved acanthus, sea holly or holy mangrove (bottom right stamp). Do remember that while traditional uses exist, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional before using any herbal remedies.
