This stamp issue is released to coincide with Singpex '97, a national stamp exhibition held in Singapore from 21 to 23 Feb 1997. The theme of this stamp issue is traditional games, showcasing some of the games played by children of yesteryears. As featured in the stamps are games such as shuttlecock (No Value Indicator), marbles (35c), top spinning (60c) and five stones (S$1.00), of which children of yesteryears had spent many happy hours playing.
