Singapore and Vietnam share a strong and multifaceted diplomatic relationship. Their diplomatic ties were established on 1 Aug 1973, and since then, both nations have developed robust cooperation across various sectors. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Vietnam, this joint stamp issue between Singapore Post and Vietnam Post features two rare species of jungle fowl – the Grey Peacock Pheasant (1st Local) representing Vietnam and the Red Jungle Fowl (S$2.00) representing Singapore. This is the second time the postal administration of both countries issued a joint stamp set.
