Butterflies are probably the best-loved insects. They belong to the distinctive order of insects known as Lepidoptera. There are more than 140,000 species of Lepidoptera, out of which 20,000 are butterflies while the rest are moths. This joint stamp issue between Singapore Post and PostNord Sweden features a set of four stamps on butterflies found in the two countries. The species featured are The Peacock (22c), Blue Pansy (70c), Great Egg-fly (S$1.00) and the Red Admiral (S$2.00). All four stamps are jointly issued, with the stamps issued by PostNord Sweden are all at a denomination of 6 kr.
