Cat is a mystical animal that leads a solitary existence in the wild that has become domesticated. Its beauty, impeccable cleanliness and fierce independence perhaps makes it the perfect household pet. Cats in Malaysia are generally categorised into shorthairs, semi-longhairs and longhairs (also known as Persian). This stamp issue by Pos Malayia in 1999 features some of the cat breeds found in Malaysia – the Kucing Malaysia, literally Malaysian Cat (30 sen), Siamese (50 sen) and the Abyssinian (RM1.00). Meanwhile, the stamps in the miniature sheet features four other cat breeds, namely Birman, Persian, British Shorthair and Scottish Fold (click here to view the stamps). As a cat lover, I have been searching for above stamps to complete this issue's collection. Finally, I found it (feeling all cloud nine!).
