This stamp issue by Singapore Post in 1998 features the four major festivals celebrated in Singapore – Hari Raya Aidilfitri, a major festival celebrated by the Muslims; Chinese New Year, which signifies a fresh beginning and new hopes for the Chinese; Deepavali or the Festival of Lights, which is the Hindu New Year; as well as Christmas, a joyous and colourful event for Singaporeans and tourists.
