HRH Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail was installed as the twelfth Ruler of Perlis on 17 Apr 2000, the day after the death of his father. Born in Arau, Perlis, HRH received his early education at the Arau Malay School. He then continued his English primary education at the Wellesley Primary School and then at the Westland Primary School, both in Penang. HRH continued his secondary education at the Penang Free School before proceeding to England where he completed his formal education at the Wellingborough Public School. HRH was installed to the Crown Prince of Perlis in 1960 while he was still studying. Upon completing his training in Sandhurst, HRH returned home and joined the Malaysian Defence Ministry. HRH was also actively involved in sports such as golf, tennis and football. HRH is dedicated towards his people and takes great interest and care especially in the field of education. Celebrating the installation of HRH as the Ruler of Perlis on 7 May 2011, all three stamps in this issue by Pos Malaysia feature portrait of HRH Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, the Raja of Perlis.
