The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a famous literary classic depicting political turmoils, peasant uprisings, Dukes fighting for territory, formation of the Three Kingdoms and unification by the Western Jin Dynasty in the late years of the Eastern Han Dynasty. The fifth series, also the last batch of stamps issued on this literary masterpiece, above stamps feature stories from Chapter 85 to Chapter 120 from the literature – Liu Bei finding a guardian for his heir at Baidi City (50 fēn stamp in first cover), Zhuge Liang leading his army home (50 fēn stamp in second cover), the death of Zhuge Liang (150 fēn stamp in first cover), and the Three Kingdoms unification under the reign of Jin (150 fēn stamp in second cover).
