The King Charles III definitive stamp issue marks a significant moment in British philately, as it introduces the first definitive stamps featuring the new monarch. The design of the stamps continues the tradition of using a royal portrait adapted from coinage. The image of King Charles III is based on the portrait created by Martin Jennings for the obverse of the new UK coinage. The definitive stamp set includes various denominations, with colours retained from the previous Machin series, ensuring continuity in British stamp design. The stamps also incorporate a 2D barcode, printed in matching colour alongside the main body of the stamp, separated by a simulated perforation line. The barcode enhances security and functionality, allowing for digital tracking and authentication.
