Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in British history. She ascended the throne on 6 Feb 1952, following the death of her father, King George VI, and ruled for over 70 years until her passing on 8 Sep 2022. She was succeeded by King Charles III, whom at the age of 73, was the oldest person to ascend the British throne. Above unique commemorative cover is issued to mark the succession of King Charles III and the changing of monarch on British postage stamps. Affixed on the cover are the non-value indicated stamps featuring the Queen Elizabeth II effigy by Arnold Machin, first used on British postage stamps in Jun 1967, and the new King Charles III effigy by Martin Jennings, introduced in Apr 2023.
