Hong Kong-style milk tea is a much-loved beverage among the Hong Kong locals. It is also known as "silk-stocking milk tea" because the white cloth bag used to filter out tiny tea leaves was stained with the colour of the tea and turned brown after being used repeatedly, resembling a silk stocking. This stamp issue aims to promote this intangible cultural heritage of Hong Kong, in the hope that this traditional craftmanship can pass down to generations. The stamps in the miniature sheet feature tea leaves and the utensils required in making the milk tea – aluminum kettle, cloth tea strainer and hotplate (HK$10.00); as well as the process of making this much-loved beverage (HK$20.00). The HK$20.00 stamp is specially produced with the embossing technique to create a three-dimensional effect for the Hong Kong-style milk tea, as if it comes to life.
