There is no shortage of fruits in Singapore that locals and visitors can enjoy. While some of these fruits are native to this part of the world, many have been brought from other tropical countries but are in cultivation for such a long time they have become part of the wide diversity of local fruits. In conjunction with Bangkok '93, a world stamp exhibition held in Bangkok from 1 to 10 Oct 1993, this stamp issue by Singapore Post features four common local fruits found in this part of the world, namely papaya (20c), pomegranate (35c), starfruit (75c) and durian (S$2.00).
