Malaysia, located in the Indo-West Pacific Basin, is well-endowed with a rich marine ecosystem with nearly 600 species of corals and more than 2,000 species of fish. This first series stamp issue on marine life by Pos Malaysia features five beautiful nudibranchs, commonly known as "sea-slugs" (click here for more details), while the miniature sheet features the Blue-ringed Angelfish (Pomacanthus annularis). The Blue-ringed Angelfish is a species of marine ray-finned fish, and it can grow up to 18 inches in length and live for over 16 years in captivity. The adult Blue-ringed Angelfish are yellow with distinct curved blue lines on the body and a blue ring above its gill cover.
