Celebrating Malaysia's rich numismatic heritage, Pos Malaysia released a set of stamps on Malay Sultanate coins, reflecting the development of trade and economic systems in the Malay world. This issue features four notable coins from different Malay sultanates – three regular stamps and a miniature sheet. The stamp in the miniature sheet features Duit Syiling Emas (Duit Kijang), highlighting the iconic kijang (barking deer) motif, historically associated with the Kelantan Sultanate, and later adopted as a national symbol, notably by Bank Negara Malaysia (the Central Bank of Malaysia). The design of the stamp prominently displays the obverse and reverse sides of the gold Duit Kijang coin. Advanced printing techniques are used to achieve a realistic metallic appearance, namely embossing (raised surface printing) to mimic the texture of a coin as well as gold foil finishing to create a reflective surface that resembles actual gold currency.
