Chinese tea culture possesses a deep-rooted historical legacy, with tea ware playing an integral part of Chinese ceramics. A continuation of the Hong Kong Museums Collection series, this stamp issue features selected tea ware from the collection of the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, highlighting both Chinese and international styles. The designs focus on individual pieces, allowing their form, decoration and craftsmanship to take centre stage – teapot with Western landscape in opaque enamels (HK$2.20); teapot of cylindrical shape with overhead handle and Buddhist figures in opaque enamels for the Thai market (HK$2.80); teapot bearing a running fox impression on its bottom, indicating the work of Dutch ceramist Ary de Milde (HK$3.70); teapot with Western figure scenes in opaque enamels and gilt (HK$4.00); a Sèvres teapot  with roses on dotted blue ground in enamels (HK$5.40); and a red clay teapot of globular shape with gold mount for the Thai market (HK$5.50). The stamps are printed in multicolour, bringing out fine details and textures of the ceramics – indeed a very beautiful set.
