Celebrating the region's rich biodiversity, this stamp issue by Singapore Post showcases three beautiful butterfly species found in Southeast Asia. Using colourful and realistic illustrations that highlighted the butterflies against natural backgrounds, allowing their distinctive patterns and colours to take centre stage, the three species featured are The Clipper, distinguishable by its striking black wings accented with blue-green markings and prominent white spots (10c); The Blue Glassy Tiger, a graceful butterfly known for its delicate bluish-grey markings and translucent wing appearance (50c); as well as the magnificent Raja Brooke's Birdwing, one of the most spectacular butterflies in the region with its emerald-green markings on velvety black wings that can attain a wingspan of up to 17 cm, making it one of the largest and most impressive butterflies in Southeast Asia (S$1.00).
