Throughout Peninsular Malaysia's coastline, there are eleven lighthouses operating to provide guidance for navigation.  Marine Department of Malaysia is responsible to establish a safe, secure and systematic sea communication system, and marine conservation towards quality development of national maritime policy. The Marine Department maintains and manages the lighthouses in conjunction with the Light Dues Board. A continuation of the earlier stamp issue on lighthouses in Malaysia (click here to find out more), the lighthouses featured in this second series include Pulau Rimau Lighthouse in Pulau Pinang (50 sen), Fort Cornwallis Lighthouse Station in Pulau Pinang (60 sen) and Pulau Angsa Lighthouse in Selangor (60 sen).
