Malaysia is well-known for its multi-racial and multi-religion populace, making it a country rich in culture. Traditional dance is a popular form of cultural expression in Malaysia, performed during festive celebrations, weddings or public events. In continuation to the earlier stamp issue on traditional dance in Malaysia (Series I issued on 9 Apr 2005), this second series gives prominence to the traditional dance of the Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kwijau and Bidayuh. The stamps feature the Cempaka Sari Dance (a traditional Malay court dance), the Chinese Ribbon Dance (originated from mainland China during the Han Dynasty), the Odissi Dance (one of eight traditional dance forms of India), the Magunatip Dance (head hunter dance of the Kwijau) and the Redang Be-uh (eagle dance of the Bidayuh).
