This stamp issue, a collaboration between Pos Malaysia and Zoo Negara, aims to educate collectors and the public on the importance of environmental conservation. In addition, the launch of this stamp coincides with the birthday of the giant pandas, Xing Xing and Liang Liang (click here for the stamp issue featuring these two pandas). The seven flora and fauna featured in the stamps are the Lesser Mousedeer (30 sen), Stingless Bee (50 sen), Wild Pepper (50 sen), Malaysian Peacock Pheasant (60 sen), Green Paddy Frog (60 sen), Asiatic Softshell Turtle (70 sen) and the Malaysian Mahseer (80 sen). Each stamp comes with a QR code at the top right, a first in Malaysian philatelic history. Scan the code and you would be directed to a site providing additional information on the respective flora and fauna.
