Pos Malaysia ended Year 2022 with the issuance of this nice bouquet of edible flowers. Bringing such flowers to the kitchen, in the recipe rather than the vase, is a way to add a touch of flavour to the cuisines. This stamp issue features three flowers in Malaysia that are widely used as ingredients in Malaysian cuisines – as featured in above cover are the Papaya Flower (60 sen), which is often mixed with other ingredients to make kerabu; as well as the Butterfly Pea Flower (RM1.30), whereby the blue colour of the flower is used as natural food colouring. The miniature sheet in this stamp issue, meanwhile, features the Torch Ginger Flower – click here for more details.
