In this day and age, Malaysian kuih are mostly commercially made with modern appliances to meet the ever-growing popular demand, hence the traditional way of kuih-making is a dying art. Kuih is the local name for the various local savouries served during teatime or as snack in between meals. Some of these traditional kuih are also served during festive celebrations and are well loved by Malaysians. Such old-fashioned ways of making popular Malaysian kuih use brass moulds of various shapes and sizes, as well as materials. The stamps in this issue features conventional methods in preparing kuih such as Kuih Akok (30 sen), Kuih Bakar (30 sen), Kuih Kapit (RM1.50) and Kuih Jala (RM1.50).
