Steep in history, heritage and culture, this stamp issue by Pos Malaysia features some of the traditional boats in Malaysia, each serving a specific purpose of its own. The miniature sheet in this issue features the Kolek Barat, a traditional fishing boat used in the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It is also used in the lower southern provinces of Thailand. Designs on the boat are a combination of Malay, Javanese and Thai styles, with emphasis on Thai patterns.
