This museum-themed stamp issue by Pos Malaysia features the Telegraph Museum in Taiping, issued in collaboration with Telekom Malaysia (TM) and in conjunction with the launching of the museum. The miniature sheet of this stamp issue features the Telegraph Museum itself, being one of the earliest colonial buildings in Perak. It was built by the Public Works Department of the Perak State Government under the supervision of St. Castlefield. Construction started in 1883 with a total cost of 4,070 Straits Dollars. The design of the building features Queen Anne's architecture in the 1880s to 1890s, which is highlighted by the Mansory arches. Meanwhile, the regular stamps in this issue feature a Transmitter Key, a Receiver as well as the Gutta Percha tree – click here for more details.
